Havant rocked up with limited warm up time after a tight 1st team game which saw Havant get pipped by Reading, not looking to do the same, the U18s made sure this wasn't the case - although the umpire blew to get us to lineup however we didn't know the lineup as Duffy hadn't told us yet. The lineup then changed as Harry Wheeler hadn't told anyone he needed a shirt, so he was looking for one on the bench, instant DOTD contender. Alton started with a high press which came as a shock to the team, but this did leave evident gaps in the midfield especially. Havant utilised this and got on the scoresheet early with a hit from Tristan. Goals followed at regular intervals including tidy finishes from Ed, and a deflection from Hari, we won't talk about Tristan's second goal... Alton's high press brought pressure to Havant but they never had any clear cut chances in the first half. At half time, Duffy although the score was 5-0, wasn't best pleased. Our success was coming from their lack of quality mostly, and with some exceptions in play such as the first goal, not because we were playing well, and demanded us to play to our own standards. 2 quick goals followed in the beginning of the second half and an excessive rout looked on the cards, but Havant didn't score again, and there was little to note, even though Havant controlled the game. The game got slightly scrappier, with one of the Alton players taking a crunch on Simon's stick, and none of the ball, earning him a green card. With 2 mins to go, Alton scored of an unlucky deflection on a short corner (thanks Ed for not being 5), preventing the clean sheet, but the game wrapped up as a convincing win over a very weak Alton side.
